What Is The Intermediate Laptop Program?
The intermediate laptop program refers to each student having their own laptop for use in school.
How Will The Laptop Program Work?
Each student will be responsible for bringing their own laptop to school. The grade seven and eight classrooms are equipped with a wireless network connecting the student’s laptop to both the F.P.S. network and to the internet. Each classroom is also equipped with an L.C.D. projector that can be attached to laptops for easy presentation. Daily work and assignments in subjects such as Writing Workshop, Novel Study, History, Geography and Computers are completed using the laptop. Daily work will be posted to the online bulletin board and assignments can be e-mailed directly to the teacher.
Environmentally, a laptop program should reduce the dependence on computer printouts for assessment purposes.
